Description
The Mountain High Silica (glass) fibre-wrapped cylinder (CFF) has an aluminum core with a fiber wrap.
Glass fiber pressure vessels (CFF) use a single fibre type as the composite reinforcement. They are composed of the aluminum liner and resin impregnated structural S-Glass. These pressure vessels carry the same degree of safety as a carbon cylinder but have a single material type as reinforcement which makes the cylinder more sensitive to surface damage. They are DOT-SP 11005 rated.
This is a 3,000psi cylinder and requires Hydrostatic testing every 3 years from date of manufacture. It has a 15 year life limit.
This cylinder is generally used in European applications where it can be filled to 3,000 psi. Filling capacity in the US is generally limited to 2,200 psi.
