ICAO DOC 9261 – Heliport Manual – Part II – Offshore Heliports
This manual provides guidance for the implementation of Annex 14 – Aerodromes, Volume II – Heliports. This Part addresses offshore heliports, which are primarily used to support mineral extraction activities and with the exploration of offshore oil and gas resources. Offshore heliports include a wide range of offshore landing facilities, such as helidecks on fixed platforms, mobile offshore drilling units (MODUs), crane barges and floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) units, offshore converter platforms and purpose-built shipboard heliports located on large tankers or on smaller vessels such as diving support vessels, seismic survey vessels, icebreakers, and research vessels. Helicopter landing areas are also being incorporated into offshore renewable infrastructure.
