ICAO DOC 10090 – Manual on Security Services for Aeronautical Communications
This manual provides comprehensive guidance on the security services and capabilities embedded within the aeronautical telecommunications network using Internet Protocol Suite (ATN/IPS) system, aimed at ensuring interoperable, safe and secure aeronautical communications. It assists implementers and users of the ATN/IPS system by establishing a common approach to ensuring security across the various stages of the system’s life cycle, regardless of the service’s purpose, type, scope, size or complexity.
This manual should be used alongside relevant provisions in Annex 10 – Aeronautical Telecommunications, Volume III – Communication Systems, and other key ICAO documents including the Manual on the Aeronautical Telecommunication Network (ATN) using Internet Protocol Suite (IPS) Standards and Protocols (Doc 9896), Manual on Aviation Information Security (Doc 10204), Manual on Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Policy for Aeronautical Communications (Doc 10095) and Manual on Security Risk Assessment for Aeronautical Communications (Doc 10145) to ensure comprehensive security implementation.
