In-Trail Procedure (Itp) Using Auto Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (Ads-B)
Airborne surveillance applications, such as the In-Trail Procedure (ITP), facilitate the climb and descent of aircraft during the en-route phase to achieve optimal flight levels in environments where the absence of air traffic service (ATS) surveillance service or the application of large separation minima is a limiting factor. The benefit of the ITP is significant fuel savings enabling greater payloads to be gained. This document provides information on ITP, its separation minima and the work undertaken by ICAO in this regard. It is aimed at a worldwide audience of the civil aviation authorities and service providers responsible for implementing ITP.
